Who We Are

ACS is a private company in Calgary. Only licensed registry agents can file in CORES, Alberta's Corporate Registry system, so our CORES-trained agents prepare your filing and [Partner registry agent name], a licensed registry agent, submits it. Your file is handled by [Agent name], CORES-trained filing agent.

We also open CRA business numbers, GST and payroll accounts and WCB-Alberta accounts, and supply seals, minute books and domain names.

ACS is a private company. We are not a government office or an Alberta registry agent. Our CORES-trained agents prepare your filing and submit it through a licensed Alberta registry agent. Prices are total fees, government fee included, before GST.

What services does ACS offer?

Alberta business registrations online: corporations, non-profits, trade names and partnerships, extra-provincial registrations, annual returns and changes, dissolutions, revivals, NUANS reports, searches, certificates and corporate supplies; every price is shown upfront (price list).

What is the process to register an Alberta corporation?

Answer our online form and pay. A CORES-trained agent obtains any NUANS report, drafts the articles and notices, files through a licensed Alberta registry agent and emails your Certificate of Incorporation.

How long does incorporation take in Alberta?

Complete, error-free orders received before 3:00 pm MT are filed the same business day. Professional corporations add the regulator's time: CPSA within 15 business days, CPA Alberta 15 to 20.

Can non-residents incorporate in Alberta?

Yes. Directors need no Canadian residency (since March 29, 2021), only to be 18 or older. The corporation still needs an Alberta registered office and agent for service; we provide both for non-resident owners.

How does a corporation differ from a registered business name?

A corporation is a separate legal entity with its own name, directors and shares. A trade name only records the name you or your corporation trade under; it creates no company and does not protect the name.

What documents do I receive after registration?

Your Certificate of Incorporation, filed Articles of Incorporation and Notices of Address, Directors and Agent for Service, by email; printed copies by post if ordered. A minute book adds bylaws, resolutions, registers and share certificates.

Do I need a lawyer to incorporate?

No. None of the incorporation steps alberta.ca lists needs a lawyer, and your agent for service need not be one. We prepare the articles and notices; for share structure or tax, ask a lawyer or CPA; we follow their plan.

How do I make changes after registration?

Order it under amendments and filings; a CORES-trained agent prepares, reviews and files it. Director and address changes are filed as notices with Corporate Registry; name and share changes need Articles of Amendment.

What company types can I register in Alberta?

Alberta corporations (named or numbered), holding companies, federal corporations, professional corporations, personal real estate corporations, unlimited liability corporations, co-operatives, societies and Part 9 non-profit companies; see register a company and non-profit.

Why use ACS instead of going to a registry office?

At a registry counter you prepare the package and file in person. Here you order online at any hour, a CORES-trained agent checks every document before filing, and the documents arrive by email (how we work).
